To start our learning about Fire Safety, some fire officers from Frankton visited our school on Monday.  They even shared the fire engine with us!

Illustrator Jenny Chisholm Visits Pohatu 1

Today we had Jenny share some of her ideas about drawing and illustrating.  Making colours pop and filling in the page were some of the key ideas as well as making the 'audience' feel something when they look at it.  Jenny told us that she gets ideas from the scenery, magazines, books and TV.

We were busy artists as we created images of our favourite fruits in different contexts!

Week 7 Reflection Workshop

On Friday afternoon last week Pohatu 1 Students enjoyed sharing their learning about seeing mistakes as learning opportunities.  We found some very creative parents as we all turned some random lines into a 'Beautiful Oops'.

Getting access to the iPads and our Lap Tops was exciting for some of the Pohatu 1 Students last week!  It was tricky getting our usernames and passwords for Mathletics correct but our persistence paid off.

School Photos

The 'Remarkable Experience' was a bit of an exciting distraction for us today.  We saw the Year 4 - 8 students pose in and around it for their class photos out our windows.  I wonder if it will be back for our class photo on Monday?
